History

In 1975 Yukon Electric Co., Inc., the company that would become UpTime Electric Co., Inc., was incorporated. Two years later, Milton L. Clowers began acquiring ownership in the company. His formal education in addition to his field experience brought a unique perspective to his executive position; a perspective that blended business savvy with technical knowledge. He also realized that success and growth in any service industry were totally dependent on customer and employee satisfaction. He believed that fulfilled employees generate a better product that benefits themselves, their families, the customer and the company. UpTime is deeply rooted in and built upon that foundation.

Having established a company built for long-term growth and stability, a partnership was formed with a well-established sister company, Michael Electric Co., Inc. Between 1977 and 1984 Mr. Clowers gained substantial equity in both companies and served as both president of Yukon and general manager for Michael. Together the two companies performed much of the construction and renovation at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, including many of the various airlines’ business and technical campuses, and many facilities for the support and concession vendors. Once their reputations were established, the companies grew to play major roles on various other substantial projects.

As the companies progressed so did Mr. Clowers’ stature in the electrical industry. He was privileged and honored to have served as a committee member, trustee, director, president and chairman on some of the industries most prestigious boards, in most cases having been the first minority to do so.

In 1992 Yukon and Michael merged their resources to create one entity to better serve our clients. The surviving name was Yukon Electric Co., Inc. In 1996, after much deliberation, Mr. Clowers changed the name to one he had always admired. UpTime Electric Company, “Your DownTime Solution”.

Mr. Clowers suddenly passed away in May of 2010. Upon his passing, his wife, Lauretta M. (Randi) Clowers retained his portion of ownership, becoming Chairman of the Board and CFO. Today, with Mr. Dewey A. (Tony) Cook, serving as President and minority partner along with Mrs. Clowers, the company continues to grow. As highlighted below:
